What is MOXI laser resurfacing?

MOXI is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser (1927 nm) by Sciton that refreshes tone and texture with only a day or two of mild redness. We offer MOXI laser resurfacing in Vero Beach for dull skin, rough texture, pores, fine lines and early sun damage.
It creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones in the top layer of skin and leaves the skin around them untouched. Your skin replaces the treated cells with fresh ones, so tone and texture improve and light pigment fades.
Who MOXI is for
MOXI suits people who want a visible refresh without the week of downtime of a stronger resurfacing laser, including younger skin as "prejuvenation". Because it targets water in the skin rather than pigment, it works on all skin types, year-round, on the face and the body.
Tell us first about cold sores, recent isotretinoin (Accutane), pregnancy or recent filler in the area.
How MOXI is done
Numbing is provided: numbing cream goes on first, then the laser takes about 8–10 minutes and feels warm and prickly. The whole visit is about 60 minutes.
Treatments are spaced every 4–6 weeks, then 2–3 maintenance treatments a year keep results. Same-day BBL + MOXI is encouraged.

MOXI laser questions
How much does MOXI cost in Vero Beach?
MOXI at Vero Beach Medical Spa is $750 per treatment area, face or body, and a same-day BBL + MOXI combo is $1,000 per area. Aesthetics Members save 20% and get one MOXI treatment a year included.
What is the downtime after MOXI?
Usually 1–3 days of redness and a rough, sandpaper feel, then light flaking. On day 0 skin is warm and pink like a mild sunburn; days 1–3 it feels rough as the "MENDs" come to the surface (your provider will tell you when makeup is fine); days 3–7 bring light flaking, then smoother, brighter skin. Most people go back to work the next day.
How many MOXI treatments will I need?
You'll see results after one; treatments are spaced every 4–6 weeks, then 2–3 maintenance treatments a year keep results. October to April is the easiest time for a series in Florida; if you're only here for the season, start in October or November so you finish before you head north.
What's the difference between BBL and MOXI, and can I do both?
BBL uses light to target brown spots and redness; MOXI is a fractional laser that resurfaces for texture, pores and overall tone. Together they treat color and texture, and we encourage doing both on the same day.
Is MOXI the same as a Halo laser, and is it safe for darker skin?
No, and we don't offer Halo. Halo is Sciton's stronger hybrid laser that combines a non-ablative 1470 nm and an ablative 2940 nm wavelength; it's usually 1–2 treatments, with most people back to normal activity in about 24 hours, while MOXI is the gentler, more superficial option, ideal for regular maintenance. MOXI's 1927 nm laser targets water rather than pigment, so it can be used on all skin types, year-round; your provider still checks your skin and history first.
How do I prepare, and what about aftercare?
Before: no tanning, sunburn or self-tanner for 2 weeks, stop retinoids and exfoliating acids for several days (we'll tell you when), and tell us about cold sores (you may need an antiviral first). After: gentle cleanser and moisturizer only for a few days, no retinoids or exfoliants for about a week, let skin flake naturally, no workouts, saunas or pools for a day or two, SPF 30+ daily and no strong sun for 2 weeks, and call (772) 907-5848 if you notice blistering, worsening swelling or signs of infection.
